107-track six-CD/DVD package, bundled with rarities, demos and outtakes along with a complete live show from Atlanta’s Fox Theater, will be released in addition to 90-track deluxe digital, double vinyl and single CD versions
Los Angeles, California – July 16, 2014 – When it was first released on June 1, 1998, the Smashing Pumpkins’ Adore, the follow-up to their mega-successful 1995 double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, fans were puzzled by its lack of rock guitars, its folk and electronic elements and relative intimacy. Even the album title, as Billy Corgan mentions in the booklet that accompanies Universal Music Enterprises’ 107-track, six-CD/DVD reissue of the epic disc—due Virgin/UMe on Sept. 23—was misunderstood.
“The funny thing was [it] was a joke that no one ever got,” says Corgan, explaining that Adore was meant as a play on “A Door.” The Smashing Pumpkins’ Adore offered a new entrance to the band’s career, as Corgan experimented with and without the band–whose drummer (and Billy’s musical confidant), Jimmy Chamberlin’s absence played as large a role as his presence might have in the making of the record. The highly personal Corgan songs reflected on the then-recent loss of his mother (“For Martha,” “Once Upon a Time”), his divorce and female issues (“Ava Adore,” “Crestfallen,” “Pug,” “Annie Dog”) and some of the most incisive lyrics he’s ever written (“Blank Pages”).
More than 15 years later, Adore--part of the continuing series of reissues of the iconic alternative band’s acclaimed catalog via Virgin/Ume--stands the test of time or as Rolling Stone writer David Wild calls it in the liner booklet, “the surprisingly beautiful sound of a great band falling apart.” Adore will be released in four different formats; among the previously unreleased tracks is the never-before-available “Blissed and Gone.” Fans may recognize the melody as it can be briefly heard as the final track on the original Adore release.
The Adore Super Deluxe six-CD/DVD package includes 107 tracks, featuring a mono version of the album; “In a State of Passage,” with demos from Corgan’s home Sadlands studio; “Chalices, Palaces, and Deep Pools,” devoted to outtakes, among them an instrumental version of “For Martha,” produced by Flood and Corgan, and “Malice, Callous, and Fools,” featuring an outtake from the Rick Rubin/Corgan collaboration, ”Let Me Give the World to You.” A sixth disc, “Kissed Alive Too,” spotlights live tracks recorded in Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and L.A.’s Dodger Stadium, among others, while the DVD captures the Smashing Pumpkins in an August 4, 1998 performance at Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. A full booklet with liner notes is also part of the release.
In addition, Adore will be available as a single CD, a double-vinyl version and a deluxe, 90-track digital package.
Capturing a transitional period in the Smashing Pumpkins’ history, Billy Corgan was glad to revisit some of these songs, adding in versions with Bon Harris’ electronic wizardry that proves how the album was way ahead of its time. “I love Adore, but for a while, my opinion of the record was so intertwined with people’s reactions to it at the time. I would say that my kind of iffy feelings lingered long past the point when a lot of fans seemed to come back around to the record–which seemed to really start happening around seven years ago. Now Adore is name-checked by fans constantly.”
Now, thanks to UMe’s four-pronged restoration of this gem, the album can reach a whole new generation of fans, its themes of in Corgan’s words, “disassociation and disintegration and disembodiment” more relevant than ever more than a decade and a half later.

CLUTCH critical soundbites:
“Four Maryland lifers--road dogs who've been grinding since the early Fugazi administration, cranking out seething admixtures of jam-band chops, careening blues-punk riffs and singer Neil Fallon's nerdy, piss-taking wiseass lyrics--release their hardest rocking set to date.”
--ROLLING STONE, (#10 Rolling Stone “Top 20 Metal Albums,” Dec. 2013)
“Every now and again an album [Earth Rocker] comes along that’s an absolute classic-not just a handful of good tunes and a handful of filler, but a classic from start to finish. Not since Pure Rock Fury and Blast Tyrant hasClutch been so straightforward in their approach. By their own admission, the band found fresh inspiration from touring with Thin Lizzy and Motorhead and it showed in the music and in the colossal riffs of guitarist Tim Sult. “
--METAL HAMMER, (#1 Metal Hammer “Album of the Year,” Jan. 2014)
“…bluesy rock, blustery, but impressively precise riffage, beards, and story songs about robots.”
--Allison Stewart, REVOLVER (Mar. 2013)
“Vocalist Neil Fallon oozes the passion and silver-tongued charm of a fire-and-brimstone preacher on the title track, Sult unleashes scores of timeless Clutch riffs (with a highlight being the irresistible fervor of ‘Unto the Breach’), and bassist Dan Maines lays down a gritty yet silky tone on tracks like ‘Crucial Velocity’ and‘Mr. Freedom.’ In fact, every song here has its own rhythmic or melodic hallmark, making Earth Rocker a surefire future classic.”
--Billy Brennan, MODERN DRUMMER (Apr. 12, 2013)
“Clutch has become a beaming example of perseverance and self-sufficiency for an independent act. …Earth Rocker remains focused on staying tight. …tracks like ‘Unto The Breach’ deliver with force: It’sfast, aggressive, melodic and catchy.”
--Mike Thomas, RELIX (Apr. 2013)
“Earth Rocker is Clutch’s hard turn into primal boogie heaviness. The acoustic flourishes, blues songs, and psychedelic forays that shaped Clutch’s past few records are shelved and in their place are hard and barbed riff-driven tunes. …Singer Neil Fallon is a holy rock ’n’ roller celebrating his music’s cathartic release and its history.”
--Scott McLennan, BOSTON GLOBE (Mar. 2013)
“Clutch has created one of its best, and most straightforward, albums to date. …Working again with producer Machine, the act stripped away the excess and honed in on the riff-heavy, muscular bar-band rock. …The white-knuckled rocking only slows down once. ‘Gone Cold,’ a subdued existential meditation, signals the end of Side A and works as a palate cleanser from the amplification and distortion. The respite also builds anticipation for the album's best track, ‘Book, Saddle and Go.’ The band was inspired by recent tour mates, and '70s hard-rock legends, Thin Lizzy, and here it shows most. The call-and-response hook and gritty riffing are proof Clutch doesn't need to pander to fans or a major label (Weathermaker Music is owned by the band).”
--Wesley Case, BALTIMORE SUN, (Mar 15, 2013)
“Clutch, the hard-touring Maryland band with an endless supply of guitar riffs, is back on the righteous path of heavy rock... Earth Rocker is Clutch's hardest-hitting album in a while, and it's full of Fallon's occasionally inscrutable, fantastical sci-fi themes. There are references to Guttenberg, the Large Hadron Collider and themedieval weapon the halberd--and that's just in one song (‘Unto the Breach’). ‘The Face’ imagines a post-apocalyptic pop culture landscape where rock is dead and electric guitars have been cast into the sea. On‘Cyborg Bette,’ our rock-star narrator falls for a robot, his ‘latest model’. A welcome return to form.”
--Christopher Weber, SEATTLE TIMES (Mar 18, 2013)
“’Earth Rocker’…will leave you battered and bruised from the relentless rhythm, vibe and energy. …The record is so UP, so groove ridden that words are not adequate to describe it. There is no filler here. There are no weak moments. There is nothing wasted. There is not a lyric, not a riff, not even a cymbal crash that is out of place. Clutch are better musicians than most, but they are a much better band than just about everybody (there is a crucial difference). What an album it is.”
--Richard Maw, THE SLUDGELORD, (Mar. 24, 2013)

New track "Breaking Skin" streaming on-line now
Nonpoint are set to release their eighth studio album, "The Return," on September 26/29 via Metal Blade Records (excluding North America). After 17 years in the game, the Florida quintet sustains the same energy that sparked its foundation back in 1997. The riffs crack with intensity, the bass and drums forge an unmatched groove, and the vocals rapidly recount stories of pain and perseverance. "The Return" remains as raw, ripping, and real as these musicians - Elias Soriano [vocals], Robb Rivera [drums], Rasheed Thomas [guitar], Adam Woloszyn [bass], and B.C. Kochmit [guitar] - get.
"Breaking Skin" is streaming now at metalblade.com/nonpoint.
In February 2014, Nonpoint entered Groovemaster Studios with Grammy Award-nominated producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Staind, Megadeth) and engineer Daniel Salcidoto. It marked their second collaboration together, and this time, the band had already amassed an arsenal of tight and tough material. Vocalist Elias Soriano elaborates: "I wanted to play with vocal patterns and tell longer stories in some places, while saying very little in others. The record has its own DNA because each song respectively does as well." Drummer Robb Rivera goes on, "Johnny is like the sixth member of our band at this point! He works us, and he pulls no punches. It was such a natural thing that we only needed to track for three weeks. Johnny understands the band and what we are, and he encourages us to be ourselves."
Elias explains the meaning behind the first single: "It's about addiction, whether it be food, drugs, sex, lying, or anything, that tends to turn into an itch. You can't stop scratching it so you break skin. Then, you're bleeding. You need to get help at that point and deal with it."
A vital energy has coursed through Nonpoint's music since day one. As a result, they've sold over 800,000 albums in North America alone, yielding hits including "What A Day", "Bullet With A Name", and a cover of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" - which appeared in Miami Vice. They've also crisscrossed the country with everybody from Stone Sour, Disturbed, and Papa Roach to Sevendust, All That Remains, and Device, also appearing at festivals including OZZfest, Rock on the Range, and Summerfest.
Ultimately, Nonpoint once again delivers a cohesive collection of powerful songs. "I want everybody to feel like they got a complete record from beginning to end," concludes Elias. "I want them to walk away with something substantial and true that they can hopefully come back to."
Robb leaves off, "Nonpoint has always been known for writing songs that help people. If we can help even one person feel better about his or her day, we've done well, as far as I'm concerned. I hope everybody gets something positive and can walk away with a smile."
Then they'll return for more!
Seether have a lot to celebrate this week. Their sixth studio album, Isolate and Medicate (The Bicycle Music Company/Concord Music Group) lands at #4 on Billboard's Top Albums chart with over 37,000 albums sold as the album's first single, "Words As Weapons" rises to #1 on the Active Rock Radio chart. Continuing their amazing run as one of alternative rock's most consistent hit makers, "Words As Weapons" is the bands 12th #1 hit and ranks among their quickest chart climbers.
Artist Direct raves: "The first taste of 2014's Isolate & Medicate upholds all of the pillars of the group's sound that fans adore worldwide. At the same time, there's an airy melody and elegant lyricism that hints at marked evolution."
Loudwire concurs: "Several albums into their career, Seether prove they're as vital as ever with their latest disc, 'Isolate and Medicate.'The group offers one of their finest albums to date by digging deep and expressing themselves in a variety of ways."
Coming off a successful European tour where they played some of the biggest festivals in the world, Seether went straight to New York City last week for a sold out record release day show at The Gramercy Theatre. They are getting ready to head back out for a mix of headlining and festival shows this summer, including a main stage return to the 2014 Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival kicking off on August 15th in Detroit, MI.Seether and Godsmack lead the stellar festival line-up with support from Skillet, Buckcherry, Escape the Fate and more.
"We'd like offer a BIG congrats to Seether, truly one of the hardest working bands in rock," stated Jake Wisely, President of The Bicycle Music Company. He added, "We are also thrilled by the effort of our partners at Concord Music Group, simultaneously achieving a top 5 album debut and a #1 single at Active Rock radio, proving once and for all that Concord rocks!"

Over the past few months I have seen a very exciting trend of young, middle school to high school-aged rock bands getting signed, touring the world, and make a real impact on social media. First off, I want to congratulate them for making that next big step so quickly, and secondly, I want to emphasize the importance of the younger generation picking up a guitar rather than a laptop to make music.
Of course, I wouldn’t be writing this post if I didn’t have something to add to the discussion, and I think it is something that will resonate with many of you, being a local musician.
These are the 3 key things that I learned from slugging it away in the South Florida scene for seven years:
1) Dependability – You learn very quickly who you can call upon when it’s time to load up the car for a last minute show, or when it’s time to try and get booked at the local venue, or who will be the one that should or should not be the guy talking to the promoter. Admittedly in the beginning, when I was about 11 or 12 years old, my mother was usually the one doing the talking for my band, so I was very lucky to have parents that not only gave me the funds to have a bass and amp, but also gave me examples of great work ethic. It wasn’t till I was about 16 and could drive myself out to shows, that I became confident enough to talk to people. You hear your parents tell you how important it is to be dependable, but you don’t really learn it till you are the only guy loading the PA in with your drummer while others show up late or refuse to touch your gear. Be dependable! Don’t be one of those guys or girls!
2) Determination – Although it was very long time ago, I can vividly remember feeling as if it was never going to happen for me. Maybe the band wasn’t going to work out and I’d have to follow the more clear cut path of college and a career in something else. You learn a lot more about yourself when things start to come apart than when it’s all smooth sailing. People come and go. You meet a great player who just wants to be the weekend warrior for example, but loses interest when you start asking everyone to pitch in for a demo. There were many versions of my local band, I did my best to keep it afloat and hope that one label might call back or show any interest. I can speak only for myself, but I feel very proud of those years in my local act. I learned more trying to pursue music on that level than anything that school could have taught me.
3) Connections – I am reminded daily about the importance of making connections, since Trivium has had countless opportunities from one or more us making connections with other people in the music industry. Business or personal connections go a very long way in this world and many others, and it’s just a fact that the more people willing to pick up the phone to take your call, the better. This is not something I learned overnight, and it was definitely not part of my personality growing up. Being nice is one thing, but being personable and outgoing with others is a totally different ball game. I learned on the local level that meeting other bands and becoming friends with them was important to getting shows for my band. That meant going out to shows that we weren’t booked on in order to support them and just hang out.
Dean, one of my great friends from back home gave me some of my first opportunities to open for his band at a real club, not just the “Battle of The Bands” at my high school or at the local fair. Getting onto those shows introduced me to Greg, the local owner of the Culture Room who gave us quite a few shows, opening for national acts like God Forbid and Diecastto name a few. He is now booking Trivium when we come through Fort Lauderdale. I see this same story play out when we play in cities and towns across America where local acts are opening the shows.
The most important connection of all was meeting Trivium, and keeping in touch over the span of a year or two. Things would be completely different had I not kept in touch and had that one opportunity to fill in playing bass for them. Those windows come and go very fast, and I have never forgot that to this day, even if I have “made it” already, that opportunities for both the band and myself are out there and I should never ignore the chance to meet new people, both inside and outside the music industry.
I could go on for hours and hours about each detail that made me who I am today because of being in a local band for almost 7 years. Making press kits, promotions, making merchandise, recording a demo, and even dealing with an indie label. All I am saying is that I believe that experiencing some or all of the things I mentioned have a real place in making a person ready for this lifestyle should the day come that you are signed and ready to hit the road. Touring and recording at the professional level are not the endgame, but a floodgate for new and more consequential issues. They don’t call this a rollercoaster ride for nothing!
I think that if I had the opportunity to get out and tour at 16, I would have done everything in my power to make it happen. I WAS TRYING!! I can only look back now after all this time to know that having those extra few years to experience the disappointments of the lack of label interest, the amazing highs of a great show, being told your music isn’t what people want to hear, or finishing a brand new song that you can’t wait to play at the show next month feels like. It didn’t prepare me for everything I was going to experience when I joined Trivium, but I do believe that I had a much different outlook on being in a band at 18 years old rather than at 15. You start to pick out the kind of people you want to surround yourself with both musically and personally, and I can attribute all of that to my garage band days.
Good luck to everyone out there trying to make it happen!

PAIN OF SALVATION is ready to return to North America for a full continental tour beginningSeptember 10th in Atlanta, GA. The band will cover a good portion of the United States and also play a couple of shows in Canada and Mexico. Oklahoma-based VANGOUGH has been chosen as direct support for the tour. A complete list of dates can be found below.
2014 began as a troublesome year for PAIN OF SALVATION with mastermind Daniel Gildenlow being hospitalized due to a serious flesh-eating bacteria infection that kept him in the hospital for months. Because of it, Daniel was forced to miss the band's performances at the renowned Progressive Nation at Sea cruise. With the worst behind him, the band regrouped and his resurrection came last month, with a performance at Sweden Rock festival, the first since the illness.
Daniel comments, "It feels great to be back on stage. I couldn't recall the last time I felt so nervous before a gig, but it was pure magic to explode on stage with the others in the band after these hard months. I'm back. We're back, and we're coming with a vengeance to North America this September!"
The North American tour sees the band playing two very special shows in Atlanta, GA, during the ProgPower USA festival, including a once-in-a-lifetime performance of the band's magnum opus album "Remedy Lane" in its entirety.
PAIN OF SALVATION are currently working on their upcoming release through InsideOut, entitled "Falling Home". More details will become available very soon. In the meantime, catch them on tour in North America with VANGOUGH.

THE HAUNTED premieres new track, "Cutting Teeth", via Decibel Magazine.com; Special guest appearances revealed for new album, 'Exit Wounds'
Swedish metal institution THE HAUNTED have recently announced Exit Wounds as the title to their upcoming, much anticipated studio album release. Due out August 25th in Europe and September 2nd in North America via Century Media Records, Exit Wounds was once again recorded with the band's longtime producer Tue Madsen at Denmark's Antfarm Studio (DARK TRANQUILLITY, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, SICK OF IT ALL, etc.).
The time has now come to debut the first new track off Exit Wounds. Check out the furious and relentless opening track "Cutting Teeth" via Decibel Magazine.com:
THE HAUNTED's vocalist Marco Aro comments: "Here's an evil little piece of work that was one of the last songs we recorded for 'Exit Wounds'. It represents quite a lot of what THE HAUNTED is all about: Breaking new ground, pissing people off, exploring unfamiliar territories, all of this...just to feed the hungry machine that is THE HAUNTED! Always curious, always hungry, always thirsting for more....in words...'Cutting Teeth'!"
THE HAUNTED are also happy to reveal that their new album features two special guests appearing on the song "Trend Killer": Jed Simon (SCAR THE MARTYR / STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) on lead guitars and TESTAMENT's Chuck Billy on vocals.
Chuck Billy comments: "I have always been a THE HAUNTED fan and became friends with the band over the years. When they asked if I would like to sing on a song for the new album with Marco singing, I didn't have to think twice about doing it. When I received the track and listened for the first time, I said 'Fuck Yeah...this is gonna be brutal!'"
As previously reported, Exit Wounds sees THE HAUNTED return with their revamped band line-up, featuring founding members Jonas Björler (bass) and Jensen (guitars) teaming up with former members Adrian Erlandsson (drums) and Marco Aro (vocals), together with newest member Ola Englund (guitars). A first preview of new material was made public in January 2014 with the release of the 3-track single Eye Of The Storm, which can be purchased at CM Distro as a 7" or at iTunes as a digital copy.

Slipknot have just announced that they’re bringing Knotfest back to the States for an extravaganza set to take place Oct. 24-26 in San Bernardino, Calif. The masked mavericks will headline two nights of the event, with a stellar lineup of acts filling out the rest of the the three-day bill.
The Knotfest announcement was made this evening from the stage at the San Bernardino kickoff of this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
Slipknot will headline the Saturday and Sunday bills of Knotfest, playing different sets each night. Meanwhile, acts like Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Killswitch Engage and Anthrax are among
the other top-billed bands.
But it doesn’t end there. The Saturday and Sunday lineups will also feature Of Mice & Men, Black Label Society, Testament, In This Moment, Hatebreed, Hellyeah, the reunited Atreyu and much more. See the current list of bands below. The Friday night festivities will serve as a pre-party bash for fans who purchase VIP or camping packages.
Also, if it wasn’t clear that Slipknot are nearly done with their new album from Corey Taylor’s recent interview with ‘Loudwire NIghts’ host Full Metal Jackie, here’s some more weight to back it up. Fans who purchase tickets to Knotfest will receive a digital copy of the band’s new disc when it’s eventually released.
The San Bernardino event follows the announcement of Knotfest Japan, which will feature Korn, Limp Bizkit, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch and more.
“Knotfest is a chance for Slipknot to bring the sensory-overload of a wild European festival — and now we’re coming for you, California,” says Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan. “Playing two different sets over two nights at one location is a new experience in the history of this band. This year’s Knotfests in the U.S. and Japan are going to be on another level.”
Early bird discounted tickets, as well as camping packages, for Knotfest at the San Manuel Amphitheater & Campgrounds in San Bernardino go on sale Monday, July 7, at 8AM PT / 11AM ET, with VIP packages available starting Wednesday, July 9. For more details visit the Knotfest website on Monday morning.
